So I’m here in Belize, basically doing nothing but lying around, living on Gatorade, watermelon & chocolate.
Yesterday I went snorkeling. Not exactly a great trip. First, they put all of us in a twelve person boat and took us on a 1.25 hour trip going KA-BAM, KA-BAM, KA-BAM through the waves. We arrived at an island smaller than a football field.
Did some snorkeling. Not very impressive. Had lunch, did more ho-hum snorkeling. Then they took us to the barrier reef. Sharks, one lying under the boat I’m trying to get in. Motivational.
The island’s so small and has so many visitors they hose off any sand on you so you don’t deplete the island.
Another KA-BAM trip back. Shower. Bed. Bed collapses. The slats holding the mattress up fall thru. This takes about an hour to fix. When I’m exhausted.
Today I lay around doing nothing, which suits me pretty well.
Had the best gelato I have ever had. They grow cocoa beans around here and chocolate in every styles available.
I’m not moving to this town, water activities require long boat trips. We’ll see what Ambergris Key brings. More tours to do.
